How to Be Saved
If you are ready to choose Jesus today as your Lord and Savior, here is what you must do to be saved.
Believe
The first step in receiving salvation is to believe in Jesus Christ. You must truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for the sins of all people. Jesus was buried and rose from the grave on the third day in order that our sins may be forgiven. Now Jesus sits on the throne waiting for sinners to repent so that He can save them and welcome them into his family. You must believe on Jesus to be saved. Jesus said, “Whosever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” John 11:26. The Bible also says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shall be saved.” Acts 16:31.
Repent
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for the remission of your sins, the next step in receiving salvation is true repentance. You must be truly sorry for all the sins you have committed and you must admit that you need Christ. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Romans 3:23. True repentance involves taking personal responsibility for your sins and promising to forsake them. It also means that you embrace a life of holy living for God. One who truly repents believes that God is ready and willing to forgive us for all the sins we have committed. Once you truly repent, you will receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God sent to dwell in our soul. It will lead and guide us into all truth by the Word of God – the Bible. The Holy Spirit is promised to us if we sincerely ask for it and if we truly believe.
Are you ready to choose Jesus and eternal life with him? After receiving this invitation, please do not harden your heart or say that you have plenty of time to give your life to Jesus. What if tomorrow never comes? Where will you spend eternity? Come to Christ today while Jesus is still standing at the door of your heart.
Pray
If you are ready, say the following prayer, and truly mean it with all of your heart, mind, body and soul:
Lord, Jesus. I love you for dying for me. I know you can save me, cleanse me, wash me, and prepare me for eternal life with you. Lord Jesus, I trust in the merits of your Holy precious blood shed to wash away my sin today. Jesus, be my savior. Jesus, come into my heart right now. Amen.
